In early October, Gary Jones began agricultural treatment of three separate locations for salt remediation in northeastern Louisiana. He commented that the dry conditions delayed the treatment a couple of weeks but he was able to initiate this project and get all three locations treated with ByoSoil 200. The goal of this project is to reduce soil salt content low enough that irrigation water usage can be ramped up in the dry portion of the growing season.
Initial soil salt testing showed levels of between 750+ppm in one location and over 450+ppm in another location we treated. Irrigation water salt content was measured at over 3,000ppm. We expect treatment verification testing will occur in early December after 60 days of treatment. Our anticipated completion of this successful project will allow for expanded treatment throughout northeastern Louisiana to assist farmers in better utilizing irrigation water to expand crop growth and improve yields.
